Leather Care Company serves the greater Sacramento region from Fairfield to Lake Tahoe, Stockton to Marysville and Yuba City.
Our family business started in Eugene, Oregon in 1999 where we served Eugene/Springfield and the Southern Willamette Valley. We originally intended to provide a part-time service, but we developed so many satisfied customers that our reputation spread and our part-time venture became a full-time operation.
In 2003, we relocated to Roseville, California, where we are currently headquartered. We continue to keep our business small in order to assure high quality work and personal customer service. Although we are small, we continue to expand our knowledge of the industry in order to better serve our customers.
Our many satisfied customers include:
- The General Public
- Leather Furniture Retailers
- Leather Furniture Manufacturers
- Interior Designers
- Corporations
- Extended Warranty Companies
- Furniture Movers
- Insurance Companies
There are, typically, three types of leather used to cover furniture:
- Pure Aniline Leather: This leather comes from the finest selection of hides and receives the least amount of processing during tanning. The aniline dyes used in coloring these hides provide transparency that highlights the graining or other natural characteristics. The leather also keeps its soft, buttery feel. This leather is subject to
fading and should not be placed in sunlit areas. It is also very susceptible to staining.
- Finished Leather (also known as protected leather): This is the most durable leather used for leather-upholstered furniture. The colors are more uniform and the feel is not as soft as aniline leather. However, this type of leather is stain and fade resistant and is easy to clean.
- Nu-Buk Leather: This is aniline leather that has been buffed, resulting in a very fine nap, which creates very soft and supple leather. This leather should not be placed by a window or near sun-exposed areas. It's very sensitive to sunlight. This type of leather also stains very easily.
